Eligibility Requirements for Tribal Membership

ATTENTION, TRIBAL ROLLS ARE CLOSED

The Tribal Roll for the Pee Dee Indian Tribe of South Carolina is still close. No new applications for membership are being taken, except under the following rule, an applicant has a family member on the roll or they had an ancestor as far back as a Great-Grandparent that was on the old roll of the 70's. The Tribal Council will have to voted to open the rolls again, but it will not be real soon.

 TRIBAL MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION UPDATE

The Tribal Roll is closed and no new applications for membership will be accepted until the roll has been opened again.

The Pee Dee Indian Tribe of South Carolina made a new tribal roll for State Recognition, which was awarded on January 27, 2006. All cards issued before March 26, 2006 are not any good. The tribal Council voted to honor the cards of all inactive members who have not been active with the tribe over the last ten-twenty years providing that they could show a card that would allow them to receive a two year paper ID card at no cost, with no eligibility for any benefits until they have submitted an application for membership and it has been approved by the Enrollment Officer.

The Tribe would really like for anyone that was on the tribal roll back in the 80's,90's and 00's to come back and help build the tribe back up to a position that can help our people.

Just for information
The Marlboro Darlington Chesterfield County Pee Dee Indian Tribe has agreed to disband and no longer use the name" Pee Dee Indian Tribe" Chief Tim LaBean has signed a letter to this effect, which now makes way for those members who has a desire to be reunited with the Original Tribe possible. We welcome any member that left this tribe back, but they all must provide full proof of their Pee Dee Indian ancestry.

Tribal membership is important for the education of our Teenagers seeking a College degree. They cannot enroll for themselves until the age of Eighteen (18), but you can enroll and make them eligible for all future educational benefits that becomes available thru the tribe. Please give that some thought. It takes over $ 10,000.00 just to get a two year college degree.

Thank you for reading this page.
