2010 Federal Census

2010 Census

Everyone the 2010 census us due in two years.  We as Pee Dee Indians must inform our Tribal members of the importance of completing the 2010 census.  That is Pee Dee Indians must identify themselves as Indians and that we are members of The Pee Dee Indian Tribe of South Carolina.  The official records at the present does not give any data about Indians in South Carolina.

Parents it is must that you register your children in school as Indians, it does not matter if "White" is on their birth certificate.  You have the right to identify yourself and your children as Indians if you have an ancestor in your genealogy that dates back at least 100 years "1908" would meet that requirement.  Lets get ourselves listed both on the census records and in the schools as Indians.  To get help for education, housing, medical, and economical development this data is a MUST.
