Tribal Employment

Pee Dee Indian Census and Survey

The Tribe is looking for someone to conduct a survey and census on tribal members who are presently on the roll.  This job will last 2 years or until 2000 names have been approved and found.  You will be paid for your time and mileage.

The job consists of going out around Marlboro and Dillon County to find each person listed on the current Pee Dee Indian Roll.  Once found you will update their file and have them fill out a survey.

To All Members of the Tribe:

If you know you are on the Tribal Roll and have not updated your status, please come and do so.  If you want to be removed from the roll then you can send a letter requesting to be removed.

If you are not sure whether you are on the roll then please call the office or email us to find out.  There are applications available at this time, these apps. will be reviewed by our Tribal Enrollment Officers.  Once the two year census project is done the names and applications collected during that time will then make up the Official Pee Dee Indian Tribal Roll.  No names will be added to the new roll until the applicants have submitted the documents needed for enrollment.

All are encouraged to take part in the Indian Census, Register to vote as Indian, Register your children in school as Indian and attend 4 Tribal meetings a year.  This will enable you to vote in Tribal elections, other Tribal business and remain in good standings with the Tribe.

Getting Involved

Volunteer Your Time

Volunteers are always in demand by the Tribe.  We could use help boxing up food on the day before it is given out to the families that need help.  There is also a need for a Tribal work team that can repair things around our Tribal Elders homes.  We can get the materials donated we just need the workers to volunteer their time and experience.  Events the Tribe is having also requires a number of volunteers.  We may need help putting up flyers or cooking or planning an event.  Please feel free to contact us to offer your help, no one will turn you away.

Dancers and Drummers Needed
We need one adult member to volunteer as the Director of the team.  We would like to form a dance team.  We need young boys and girls from ages 8-18.  They will learn traditional Native American dances and we will be teaching boys how to drum.  This team will do performances at schools and special engagments on request from organizations.  The Tribe will help the team members with getting Regalia made.  This is a good experience for the children to teach them these dances and their culture.  We want you to come join us and have some fun and learn about your heritage.
